Clinical Waste Disposal is a highly regulated process with many laws and requirements. It is imperative that when you choose a company to collect your Clinical Waste, you ensure they are fully qualified to do so, as it is part or your ‘Duty of Care’ to ensure the waste is disposed of correctly .
You need to make sure any company collecting Clinical Waste from your premises has a valid Waste Carriers Licence and are able to provide you with the destination address of the reciving site, together with its Disposal Site Licence. Click here to access Hygieco's Waste licences.
If your chosen carrier is not taking your waste direct to the disposal point, then any transfer of waste from the collection vehicle must only take place at a licenced "Waste Transfer Station".
